Letter to Environment and Public Works Committee says RFS increases taxpayer and consumer costs, failing to benefit climate

Today, Taxpayers for Common Sense (TCS) sent a letter to the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee in advance of tomorrow’s hearing entitled, “The Environmental Protection Agency’s Renewable Fuel Standard Program: Challenges and Opportunities.” The letter urges Senators to consider the Renewable Fuel Standard’s (RFS) failure to significantly reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in addition to distorting markets, increasing costs, and spurring long-term liabilities for both consumers and taxpayers.
